Olivia Heaton delivered an outstanding performance at the Northern Ireland Open weekend, held at the Devenish Complex in Belfast on 21–22 March 2026, competing across multiple WDF-ranked events and producing one of the most impressive weekends of her young career.
At just 17 years old, Olivia demonstrated exceptional talent, resilience, and composure as she took on both youth and senior competition. The highlight of the weekend came in the WDF World Ranked Gold Northern Ireland Open Girls event, where Olivia claimed the title to secure her first ever World Ranking tournament victory. She began strongly by winning her round robin group, topping Group A with two wins from two matches and an impressive 60.12 average. Carrying that form into the knockout stages, she defeated Faith Richardson 3–0 in the semi-final before producing a confident and controlled performance in the final to beat Amber O’Toole 4–2 and lift the title.

In the WDF World Ranked Silver Northern Ireland Open Women’s event, Olivia showed remarkable determination and mental strength. Her campaign started slowly, leaving her near the bottom of her round robin group early on. However, after stepping away to compete in and win the Girls event, she returned to the Women’s competition with renewed confidence and focus. Olivia went on to win her remaining three group matches 2–0, completing a superb turnaround to top Group C with four wins from six matches.
In the knockout stages, she continued her strong form, defeating Eileen Macqueen 4–1 in the last 16 and Jacqueline O’Neill 4–1 in the quarter-finals. Her run was eventually ended in the semi-finals by Dutch star Anca Zijlstra, who edged a high-quality contest 4–2. Reaching the semi-final of a WDF Silver Women’s event represents a significant achievement and underlines Olivia’s growing presence in the senior game.

Olivia carried this momentum into the WDF World Ranked Bronze Northern Ireland Women’s Matchplay, where she again reached the semi-finals. She opened with a 4–1 victory over Eileen Macqueen, followed by a dominant 4–0 win against Tammy-Jo Grafton in the quarter-finals. Once again, her run was halted at the semi-final stage by Anca Zijlstra in a competitive 4–2 match. Back-to-back semi-final finishes across two senior events highlight her consistency and ability to compete at a high level against experienced opposition.

One of the defining aspects of Olivia’s weekend was her resilience and mental strength. After a difficult start in the Women’s event, she reset, won the Girls title in style, and returned to win three consecutive matches without dropping a leg. This ability to regroup and perform under pressure is a clear indicator of her maturity and potential at the highest level of the sport.
These performances have resulted in a significant boost across multiple WDF ranking tables. Olivia is now ranked 13 in the WDF UK/Ireland Women’s rankings and 77 in the WDF World Women’s rankings. In the youth game, she sits at 16 in the WDF World Girls U18 rankings and 11 in the UK/Ireland Girls U18 rankings. Her progress is also reflected across the race tables, including 68 in the WDF World Masters Race (Women), 37 in the World Championship Race (Women), and 13 in the UK/Ireland Women’s regional race. In the Girls U18 categories, she is ranked 13 in the World Championship Race, 14 in the World Masters Race, and 11 in the UK/Ireland Masters Race.
Having already secured qualification for the WDF Girls World Masters in Las Vegas, her performances in Belfast are expected to also confirm qualification for the WDF Women’s World Masters. This marks a major step forward in her transition from youth to senior competition.
Overall, the Northern Ireland Open weekend represents a breakthrough moment for Olivia Heaton. Securing her first World Ranking title in the Girls event, alongside two semi-final finishes in senior competitions, demonstrates not only her talent but also her consistency, determination, and ability to compete at a high level across multiple formats. At just 17 years of age, Olivia is rapidly establishing herself as one of the most exciting prospects in darts and a rising force within the women’s game.
